Outstanding coastline and beaches
Northumberland boasts some of the most stunning beaches and coastline in the UK. From the picturesque coastal town of Warkworth to the charming village of Alnmouth, there are plenty of places to explore along the coast. Don't miss the chance to visit Craster, famous for its kippers, or the historic town of Bamburgh with its impressive castle. Amongst our favourite beaches are Alnmouth, Bamburgh, Longhoughton, Warkworth, Druridge Bay and Embleton Bay, but you will find beaches and bays all the way along the coastline, including over the border into Scotland - St. Abb's Head is not to be missed.

Wildlife & Nature
From puffins to seals, dolphins to ospreys, wild cattle to wild deer, these are just some of the array of wildlife in Northumberland. Wild goats roam the Cheviots, wildlife boat trips are available daily to the Farne Islands, and deer spotting in the forests is one of our favourite activities!

They include some of the most impressive castles in the UK, making it a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts and castle lovers alike. From the imposing Bamburgh Castle, perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the North Sea, to the majestic Alnwick Castle, which has been used as a filming location for popular movies and TV shows, there is no shortage of stunning castles to explore. Visitors can also discover the fascinating history of the region's castles, including their role in battles and sieges, and enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.

Visitors can explore the ruins of Lindisfarne Priory, which was founded in the 7th century, and learn about the island's role in the spread of Christianity throughout England.

Northumberland is a fantastic base for exploring some of the most beautiful and interesting destinations in the UK. If you're looking for something a little closer to home, why not head to Kielder, home to some of the darkest skies in Europe, perfect for stargazing and spotting the Northern Lights. Newcastle is also just a stone's throw away, with its vibrant nightlife, excellent shopping, and fascinating history.
For those who love the great outdoors, St. Abb's Head and the Borders offer stunning coastal walks and breathtaking scenery, while North Berwick is a charming seaside town with plenty of attractions for all ages, and a trip to Hadrian's Wall to learn about Roman Britain is a must-see.
